Williams, Emma Lucas
Emma Lucas Williams, 96, of Pearisburg, formerly of Pembroke, passed away May 22, 2012. She was a daughter of the late William C. and Birdanna C. Lucas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rudolph B. Williams; son-in-law, R. G. Akers; daughters-in-law, Patricia G. Williams and Sue D. Williams; three sisters, Claudine L. Albert, Mary L. McCoy, and Evelyn L. Rumburg; and a brother Coburn C. Lucas. She retired from Giles Carpet Sales and was a member of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) of Pearisburg, also Past-President of the Christian Womens Fellowship. She was a 66 year member and Past Worthy Matron of Pearis Chapter #124, Order of the Eastern Star. She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia W. and Don Brookman, of Pearisburg, Doris W. and Colin Kellam, of Narrows, Lois W. and Dwain Anderson, of Snelleville, Ga.; three sons and daughters-in-law, Barrie G. Williams, of Dalton, Ga., Richard A. and Carol Williams, of Sumter, S.C., and Curtis D. and Dreama B. Williams, of Pembroke; 33 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She hopes that she will be lovingly remembered by her children in whom she had magnificent faith and confidence, and by her many friends and family for whom she had great warmth and compassion. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, May 24, 2012, at 1 p.m. in the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St., Pembroke, with the Rev. Joel Saucedo and the Rev. Eddie Kendall officiating. Interment will follow in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. before the services at the funeral home.
