Herren, Betty Jean Leonard

Betty Jean Leonard Herren, 81, of Weber City, VA, died Thursday, May 10, 2012 at Wheatland Hills Retirement Center, Christiansburg. She was born in Rogersville, TN on July 16, 1930 to the late Jonathan and Sue Smith Leonard. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Bill Herren, two brothers, and five sisters. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Suzanne and Steve McMurray, Blacksburg; sons and daughter-in-law, Billy and Carolyn Herren, Christiansburg, Joey Herren, Nashville, TN; six grandchildren, Matthew McMurray and wife, Jessica, Christiansburg, Christopher McMurray and wife, Kelly, Radford, Justin McMurray, Blacksburg, Hayley, Heather, and William Herren, all of Christiansburg; four great-grandchildren, Sean and Taylor McMurray, Lillyanne and Caroline McMurray; sister, Helen Henry, Kingsport, TN; brother and sister-in-law, Johnny and Frances Leonard, Rogersville, TN; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Monday, May 14, 2012 at 11:00 am in the Heritage First Church of God, 470 Rock Springs Road, Kingsport, TN with Pastor Steve Tilley officiating. Interment will follow in the Holsten View Cemetery, Weber City, VA. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Heritage First Church of God, 470 Rock Springs Road, Kingsport, TN, or a charity of your choice. The family will receive friends 10:00 am until service time Monday prior to the service at Heritage First Church of God, Kingsport, TN.
