Meredith, James Garnett

James Garnett Meredith, 87, of Christiansburg, died Thursday, January 18, 2007 at Montgomery Regional Hospital.

He was born in Goodwins Ferry, Va. on November 27, 1919 to the late Sam and Blanche Fisher Meredith. He is survived by his wife, Mayme Minnick Meredith, Christiansburg; four daughters and sons-in-law, Janice and Robert Simpkins, Christiansburg, Brenda and Clinton C. Wade, Christiansburg, Hannah Abate, Christiansburg, Martha and Tim Conner, Shawsville; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, January 21, 2007 at 11 a.m. in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Charles Spencer and the Rev. Sam Kinzer officiating. Interment will follow in the Snodgrass Cemetery, Spruce Run Community, Giles County. Friends may call anytime after 12 noon Saturday, and the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday evening at McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive, SW, Blacksburg.
