Engebritson, Monte Lee

Monte Lee Engebritson, 45, of Blacksburg, died, Thursday, January 26, 2006 at his home. He was born in Mobridge, South Dakota on September 18, 1960.

He graduated from Hasting High School in 1979, and graduated with a BS degree in Business from the University of Nebraska in 1983. While at Nebraska, he was a 3-year letterman on the football team.

He worked in Lincoln, Nebraska for 7 years as a Plant Supervisor for Square D Company. He was with Federal Mogul Corporation for the past 13 years in various positions including Plant Manager, and North American Project Manager.

For the past 13 years he has fought a hard and courageous battle with cancer, as well as other related health complications. He has been an inspiration to all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence (Lefty) Engebritson. He is survived by his spouse, Lori Engebritson; mother, Elaine Smith Engebritson, of Council Bluffs, Iowa; daughter, Erin Engebritson, of Blacksburg; son, Seth Engebritson, of Blacksburg; sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and DeWayne Curtis and their families, Troy Curtis and wife Andrea, Amy Kohl and husband Josh, all of Hastings, Neb.; brother and sister-in-law, Scott and Lisa Engebritson and their family Jordan, Bree, and Codee Engebritson, all of Columbia, Mo.; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Randy and Julie Larsen, and their family, Cole and Reed, all of Overland Park, Kan.; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Nancy and DeLoyd Larsen, of Lincoln, Neb.; grandparents, Arne and Esther Larsen, of Hebron, Neb., and many other special friends, colleagues, caring medical professionals, and the Husker Nation.

A celebration honoring Monte’s life will be conducted Sunday, January 29, 2006 at 7:30 p.m. at the Fieldstone United Methodist Church, 3385 North Franklin St. Christiansburg, Va., with the Rev. Lynn Alley Grant officiating. A fellowship will follow the service.
