Cullop, Harold Lloyd

Harold Lloyd Cullop, age 80 of 529 Free Street, Dublin departed this life for the next on Sunday, January 7, 2007 at Lewis Gale medical Center, Salem. He was born on January 15, 1926 in Abingdon, Virginia he was the son of the late Thomas R. & Josephine D. Cullop.

He was a dedicated member of the Draper Volunteer Fire Department and a lifetime member of the Dublin Volunteer Fire Department. He was also a lifetime member and past president of the Southwest Virginia Firefighters Association. In addition, he was a veteran of the Second World War with the United States Navy and a lifetime member of the V.F.W.

He was also a member of the Dublin United Methodist Church. He retired from Norfolk Southern in 1988 after 40 years of service.

A special thanks to the staff of the Lewis-Gale Medical Center for their care and hospitality.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Dublin United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bill Rowland officiating. Interment will follow at the Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin where the V.F.W. Post #1184 will conduct full military honors.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday evening at the Dublin United Methodist Church.
