Shomaker, Edwin (Butch) Baker

Edwin (Butch) Baker Shomaker, age 69 of Radford, died Sunday March 18, 2012 at Radford Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was born on March 13, 1943 in Pulaski, and was the son of the late Fern Towe Shomaker and Thomas Frank Shomaker. He was a former Building Inspector for the Cities of Roanoke and Salem. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Bill and Kurt; sisters, Florence Nester, Virginia Cox, and Connie Hanks. He is survived by a daughter, Sheri Shelburne and her husband Buford of Radford; a son, Edwin Heath Shomaker of Roanoke; sisters, Shirley Via and her husband Jack of Pulaski, Frankie Yopp and her husband Bill of Pulaski, and Peggy Ratcliff and her husband Bill of Clarksville, TN. He is also survived by three grandchildren; William (Will) Robert Shelburne of Radford, Nathaniel (Nathan) Seth Shelburne of Radford, and Caleb Shomaker of Roanoke. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday March 20, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. at Seagle Funeral Home with the Rev. Jeff Curtis officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening at Seagle Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. A graveside service will be held Wednesday March 21, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in Oakwood Cemetery.
