Sparks, Oran Lee

Oran Lee Sparks (Red), 70, of Pinewood Dr. in Pearisburg, died at his home Monday, January 8, 2007.

Born in Erwin, Tennessee on September 16, 1936, he was a son of the late Claude R. and Virginia Hensley Sparks. He had been employed at Celanese Celco Plant in Narrows as a millwright and was preceded in death by a brother Lloyd Sparks.

He leaves to cherish his memory his companion and caregiver, Rebecca W. Cumbee; two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Gary Correll of Newport, Terry and Richard McCoy of Newport; his grandchildren, Carly Correll, Mitchell Correll, Kent McCoy; a sister, Shelby Jean Horton of Weiss, Idaho; two brothers, Jack Sparks of Pembroke, Va. and Ivery Sparks of Waynesville, N.C.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 2 p.m. in the Kendall Funeral Home at 605 Snidow St. in Pembroke with Pastor Eddie Kendall officiating. Burial will follow in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg.
