jarrels leslie leeLeslie Lee Jarrells, 88, of Blacksburg, died Saturday, March 17, 2012, at the New River Valley Medical Center. He was born in Riner on July 14, 1923 to the late Henry Lee and Clydia Edna Thompson Jarrells. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Metabelle Smith Jarrells. He was a member of Sunnyside Pentecostal Holiness Church. He is survived by his daughter and son-in law, Shirley and Mike Dickerson, of Blacksburg; two sons and daughter-in-law, Leslie Lee Jr. and Lois Jarrells, of Blacksburg and David R. Jarrells, of Christiansburg; sister, Lucille J. Vaught, of Long Shop; stepsister, Kathy; two brothers and sister-in-law, Walter and Frances Jarels, of Prices Fork, Marshall Jarels, of Baltimore, Md.; stepbrother, Bruce Jarels, of Ellett; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; two great -great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, March 19, 2012 at 1 p.m. in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Layne Board and the Rev. Steve Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in the Smith Family Cemetery, Norris Run, Va. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday evening at McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive SW, Blacksburg.
