Carter, Joshua L.
Joshua L. Carter, of Blacksburg, received his Hokie colored wings on Friday, February 17, 2012, at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital after an accident. Born and raised in Hampton, Va., on February 19, 1988, he was moved to Blacksburg in July of 2007 by “Sissy,” Amanda Hardwick, to join her and her family. The Blacksburg community welcomed Joshua as he joined other community families. Joshua actively participated as a member of the Southwest Virginia Special Olympics team and enjoyed many triumphs in basketball, bowling, and track and field. He is survived by his mother, Julie Carter; siblings, Daniel Kramer and Amanda Hardwick and their families; and by his father, John Carter and family. Much love and thanks to Jason for all the support and love he provided to Joshua. Time of Remembrance will be held at at 3 p.m. on Saturday, February 25, 2012, at New Life Christian Fellowship, 130 Jackson St., Blacksburg, VA 24060. His family encourages Joshua’s friends to come and share their stories to help celebrate his life. Casual and Hokie attire encouraged.
