Young, Lewis Gordon
Lewis Gordon Young, 67, of Radford, passed away on Wednesday, February 1, 2012. He was a United States Marine having served during the Vietnam War. He was employed at RAAP and Virginia Tech and was a member of the Snowville Christian Church. Survivors include his wife, Judy R. Young, of Radford; son and daughter-in-law, Danny and Mitzi Young, of Snowville; daughters and son-in-law, Tina Owens, and Donna and Lee Johnston, all of Christiansburg; stepsons, Steven Light and his wife, Chrissie, of Fort Mill, S.C., and Alan Light, of England; sisters, Virginia Goad, of Radford, and Geraldine Hanley, of Carville, Tenn.; nine grandchildren, Amanda and Katherine Light, Austin and Dylan Young, Jacob Ryan, Jessica and Kimberly Owens and Matt and Josh Prescott; special Marine buddies, Victor Luna and wife, Donna, and Mike Dulaney and wife, Linda; and special Pomeranian, Cindy Sue. Special thanks to the physicians and nurses at Carilion New River Valley Medical Center CCU. A Military Graveside Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 3, 2012, at the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Dublin. A Memorial Service will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, February 4, 2012, at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford with the Rev. Jonathan Webster officiating.
