Yost Sr., Charles Kenneth

Charles Kenneth Yost Sr., 83, of Pearisburg, went to be with the Lord on Saturday morning January 7, 2012 at his home. Mr. Yost was born on February 24, 1928 in Tazewell, and was a son of the late Charles George and Letha Whittaker Yost. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ralph Yost and his wife, Eleanor Yost of Baptist Valley in Tazewell County. Mr. Yost was an Army Veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He was a member of the Pearisburg Volunteer Fire Dept. for 20 Years and was a past Fire Chief and was a charter Member of Angels Rest Baptist Fellowship. Mr. Yost is survived by his wife of 58 years, Jean Duncan Yost of Pearisburg; three sons, Charles K. Yost Jr. of Portland, Ore., Michael G. Yost and wife Thelma, W. Clay Yost and wife Dana all of Pearisburg; three grandsons, Joseph Yost and wife Lisa of Blacksburg, Kyle and Joshua of Pearisburg; several nieces; and nephews; and brother-in-law and wife, Robert Gerald Duncan and wife, Bee Gee of Radford. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at 1 p.m. at the Angels Rest Baptist Fellowship with Dr. Don McKinney and Pastor John Jenkins officiating with burial following in the Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at the Givens Funeral Home in Pearisburg Monday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Pearisburg Volunteer Fire Dept. or the Angels Rest Baptist Fellowship in Pearisburg.
