mitcham cecil clyde jrCecil Clyde Mitcham Jr., 69, of Blacksburg, went to be with his Savior in Heaven Thursday, December 29, 2011, with his family by his side at Lewis-Gale Montgomery Hospital.

Clyde was born in Beckley, W.Va., June 3, 1942. He was preceded in death by his father, Cecil Clyde Mitcham Sr.; a brother, Michael Gwinn Mitcham; and an infant granddaughter, Brittany Faith Mitcham.

He owned and operated the Blacksburg Plumbing, Heating and Electrical Company since 1974. Clyde was a member of the Methodist Church and attended the Mt. Mission Church. Clyde loved to hunt and fish and was an avid coon hunter.

He is survived by his wife, Bonita S. Mitcham, of Blacksburg; mother, Betty M. Mitchell, of Nimitz, W.Va.; five sons and daughters-in-law, David Allen and Lori Mitcham, of Riner, James Edward and Bridget Mitcham, of McCoy, Robert Lewis and Rhonda Mitcham, of Newport, Willard Andy Grubb and companion, Connie, of Rich Creek, Jason Lloyd and Brittany Mitcham, of Christiansburg; brother, Larry Wayne Mitcham, of California; two stepsisters, Jean Hoge of Crab Orchard, W.Va., Linda Branham, of Mullins, W.Va.; two stepbrothers, Ricky Mitchell, of Pineville, W.Va., the Rev. Mickey Mitchell, of Mullins, W.Va.; 16 grandchildren; one grandchild, Dayton, who will be here in March; two great- grandchildren and one great- grandchild that will be here in May; numerous nieces and nephews and a special nephew, Michael Keith Mitcham.

The family would like to thank the ER, ICU and 4th Floor Staff at Lewis Gale-Montgomery Hospital and also Dr. Harry McCoy and Dr. Jerome Goldschmidt for their wonderful care they showed to Clyde during his illness.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday, January 2, 2012, in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ira Smith Jr. and the Rev. Reggie Tuck officiating. Interment will follow in the Westview Cemetery, Blacksburg.

Friends may call any time after noon Sunday and the family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday evening at the McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive, SW, Blacksburg.
