Rose, Sandra Lynn Dalton
Sandra Lynn Dalton Rose, 54, of Christiansburg, Va., went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 30, 2011. She served her country in the United States Marine Corp. for four years, and thereafter served on active Army Reserve for 20 years, which included serving during Desert Storm. She was currently employed for the past 24 years with Radford University as an Administrative Assistant in various departments. She was loved by her students and the staff. She graduated RU with a Bachelor Degree in Business Science and was a dedicated and motivated person with a high quality work ethic. She was also a giving and caring person who loved her country. She is survived by her children, William Christopher Smith and wife, Kumi Yagi of Atlanta, Ga. and Justin Perry Smith and wife, Crystal of Herndon, Va.; grandchildren, Malhea Althea Smith, Marcellus Alexander Smith; mother, Sylvia Louise Watson; brother and sisters, Robert Wright, Sheila Vick, and Stephanie Watson; friends, Kathy Thompson, Connie Phillips, Carolyn Turner, Dr. Warren Self, Rick Slavings, Barbara Conner, the RU Community, and Precious, the cat. The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 4, 2011 from noon to 2 p.m. at the Horne Funeral Home, with a funeral service to follow at 2 p.m. in the Chapel.
