Singleton, Margaret Esther Ireland

Margaret Esther Ireland Singleton, 90, of Blacksburg, died Wednesday, November 9, 2011, at Heritage Hall Health Care Center. She was born in Scottsbluff, Nebraska on April 14, 1921, to the late Ted L. and Ethel Gladys Ireland. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Lester Singleton; her son, Michael James Singleton; brother, Loren Charles Ireland; and sister, Ruth Eleanor Ireland Raser. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jon Charles and Kathleen Adell Wiley Singleton, Sherrills Ford, N.C.; daughter, Karen Sue Singleton; daughter-in-law, Barbara Jean Amidon, Gathersburg, Md.; two grandsons, Ian James Singleton and Robert Michael Singleton. The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday at McCoy Funeral Home, Blacksburg and then proceed to the Sunset Cemetery, Christiansburg for a 1 p.m. graveside service with the Rev. Dr. Stuart MacLean officiating. Arrangements by McCoy Funeral home, Blacksburg.
