Thornton, Ava Lou Walters

Ava Lou Walters Thornton, 72, of Christiansburg, Va., passed away on Tuesday, November 8, 2011. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Thornton. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in- law, Dwayne and Angela Thornton and Greg and Robin Lester; daughter, Katina Thornton Zelanak; grandchildren, David Thornton and Cody Lester; great- grandchild, Makayla Thornton; brother, Carlos Akers; sister, Shirley Coppedge; Special aunt, Gloria ONeill; and many special nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Friday, November 11, 2011, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Horne Funeral Home Chapel. The Funeral Service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 12, 2011, at the Horne Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor T. Michael Bond officiating.
