Matthew Jack Dalton Jr., 58, of Radford, departed this life on Tuesday, November 8, 2011, at Carilion New River Valley Medical Center at Radford. Born in Pearisburg on November 16, 1962, he was a son of Matthew Jack Dalton, of Goldbond, and the late Bertie St.Clair Dalton, and stepson of Lola D. Dalton, of Goldbond. He leaves to cherish his memory his children, Shannon Dalton and Kassie Sheppard, of Riner, Angela Dalton and Scott Altizer, of Radford, Amanda and Troy Taylor, of St. Roberts, Mo., Pvt. Matthew Dalton III, of Ft. Benning, Ga., William Jack Dalton and Anna Byrd; his grandchildren, William Jacob and Hannah Dalton, who were special to him and always around him, Alexis Young, Sierra, Zachary, and Skler Altizer; his brothers and sisters, William Deon Dalton, of Pearisburg, Kenneth Melin Dalton, of Pearisburg, Edward Saunders Dalton, of Pearisburg, Leroy and Carol Dalton, of Pembroke, Edward Saunders and Ellen Harris, of Pembroke, Frances and Dean Collins, of Pembroke; his stepsisters and brothers, Rebecca and Stephanie Smith, of Blacksburg, Mason Dennis, of Pembroke, and Thomas Smith, of Blacksburg; and 22 nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 12, 2011, in the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St., Pembroke with burial following in Angels Rest Memory Gardens in Narrows. The family will receive friends on Saturday for two hours before the services. In lieu of flowers the family requests that funeral contributions be made in Jack’s memory to Kendall Funeral Home, P.O.
