Lytton, Ruth Millington

lytton_ruth_millingtonRuth Millington Lytton, 91, of Long Shop, died on Sunday, October 30, 2011, at Lewis Gale Hospital-Montgomery. She was born in Richmond, Va., on April 8, 1920, to the late Wilbur Weisger and Dora Jane Bottoms Millington. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Harman (Pickle) Lytton; son, Garland Anthony Millington; and daughters, Irene May and Cindy Lou Lytton. During her 91 years she touched the lives of many with her faith, wit, sense of humor, and ability to love and care about those around her. Ruth loved her friends at the Blacksburg Christian Church and the Eastern Star. She will be remembered for the same with smiles as those whose lives she touched recall their personal relationships with her. She was strong, faithful and tough as a pine knot. She is survived by her two daughters, Oleta Viar, and Greer Boyd; three sons and daughters-in-law, Charles and Gail Lytton, Melvin and Joanne Lytton, and Michael Lytton; her granddaughter, Rebecca; stepgrandchildren, Beth Schoenig, Patrick Anderson, and Mike Anderson; step great-grandchildren, Lilly, Tyler, Charlie, Avery, and Brook; adopted daughters, Sara Hetherington, Cyndy Esau, and Corelise Sherman; adopted sons, Darnell Harvey, Chuck (Charles) Shorter, Terry Albert, Kevan Harris, Jimmy (James) Bland, and Gary McCoy; nieces and nephews, Stuart Hoffman, Teresa Pratt, Oakley Lytton, Gary Lytton, Bruce Lytton, Charlene Harris, Millie Russell, Linwood Lytton, Ronnie Kitts, Maryellen Mayer, Kim Vores, David Johnson, Susan Johnson, Beth (Lytton), and Keith Lytton; and friends and family of Heritage Hall. Memorial Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 5, 2011, in the Heritage Hall Nursing Home Main Dining Room. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Heritage Hall Patient Aid Account, 3610 South Main Street, Blacksburg, VA 24060 and Long Shop-McCoy Fire and First Aid Crew, P.O.
