Winsky, Emilie Catherine

Emilie Catherine Winsky, 94, of Blacksburg, and formerly of Great Neck, N.Y., crossed into Heaven hand in hand with the Lord Jesus on Tuesday, October 25, 2011, at Lewis Gale Hospital Montgomery. She was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on December 5, 1916, to the late Peter and Nellie Romanskas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony Winsky; two sons, Anthony F. Winsky and Michael Winsky; her brother, Albie; and a sister, Sophie. She was a devoted, loving and generous mother and grandmother. She is survived by her daughter, Emilie (Mimi) Winsky, of Blacksburg; son and daughter- in-law, Gerald and Christine Winsky, of Blacksburg; two grandchildren, Marisa Winsky, and Timothy Winsky and wife, Ashley; and sister, Aldona Layer, of Richmond Hill, N.Y. Private services will be held at a later date. Arrangements by McCoy Funeral Home, Blacksburg.
