Bishop, Lois Cecil
Lois Cecil Bishop, 98, of 6591 Ruebush Road, Dublin, Va., went to be with the Lord on Monday, October 24, 2011. She was born on May 23, 1913, in Dublin, Va. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 46 years, Joseph Wadsworth Bishop; her parents, Fonrose and Addie Morgan Cecil; and her brother, Emory Cecil. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Joe and Brenda Bishop, of Dublin; grandchildren, Laura and Kevin McDowell, of Christiansburg, and Mary and Jonathan Cheverton, of Dublin; great-grandchildren, Faith and Grey McDowell, of Christiansburg; great-nephew and wife, Bobby and Sharon Cecil, of Christiansburg; extended family, Carson and Diane Dalton, of Dublin, and Carol Smith, of Pulaski, and families; as well as many loving friends. “Nanny” was a hard worker and an excellent seamstress. She worked at Kenrose Manufacturing in Radford, Va., for 25 years. She was an active member of the Dublin Church of God for 46 years where she taught Sunday School. She was loved and admired by her family. The family would like to thank the staff at Highland Ridge Rehab Center in Dublin, Va., for their patient and loving care in the past months. The family will receive friends at Dublin Church of God from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, October 26, 2011, with the funeral service immediately following. The funeral service will be officiated by the Reverend Michael Collins. Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 27, 2011, at Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin, Va.
