Barr, James Edward
James Edward Barr, 70, of Claytor Lake, died Wednesday evening in the New River Valley Medical Center.
Born August 23, 1936 in Washington, D.C., the son of the late Edward Lee and Lila Tanner Barr. A member of Cecils Chapel United Methodist Church, he was an electronics instructor for Pulaski County High School, a former Instrument technician at RAAP. He was an avid supporter of PCHS Cougar football, wrestling and the VA Tech crew team.

Surviving are wife of 43 years, Judith Malcolm Barr, Claytor Lake; sons, James E. Barr, Jr. and fianc?e Kathie Care, Bristow, Va., Jon Eric Barr and friend Annie Strickler, King George and Locust Grove, Va.; sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Gary Arnett, Bumpass, Va.;; brother-in-law and wife, Harold and Debra Malcolm, Pulaski, Va.; cousin, Carl Gilliam, Amherst, Va.; niece; three nephews; two great-nieces; three great-nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. from Stevens Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Brian Wyke officiating. Burial will follow in the Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin. Visiting will be Friday at Stevens Funeral Home with the Family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society; the Leukemia/ Lymphoma Society of America; or the Cecils Chapel United Methodist Church Building Fund.
