Katherine Vernelle Page Mostiler, 91, of Blacksburg, passed away peacefully, August 29, 2011 at Heritage Hall Health Care. She was born in Inman, S.C. on March 8, 1920, one of ten brothers and sisters, to the late James Crawford and Molly Jackson Page. She was the loving wife and partner of the Rev. Joe Thomas Mostiler until his death in 1987. They were married forty nine years. She was also preceded in death by her son-in-law, Paul Bowyer. Vernelle was a devoted pastor’s wife for over forty years. They pastored churches in Forest City, N.C., Mt. Wesley in Hiddenite, N.C., Blacksburg Wesleyan, Fairview Community, Radford and Vinton, Va. She was a member of the First Wesleyan Church , Blacksburg. “Bernie” was the mother of two children and loving grandmother of eight grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. Left to cherish her memory are two children, Geraldine Bowyer, of Blascksburg and Dr. T. Wayne Mostiler, of Norfolk; and one sister, Ruby Page Littlejohn, of Greenville, S.C. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday September 1, 2011 at 2 p.m. in the Blacksburg First Wesleyan Church with the Rev. John Hopkins and the Rev. Jimmie Lee Price officiating. Interment will be at the Mt. Wesley Cemetery, Hiddenite, N.C. at 1 p.m. on Friday. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday evening at the McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Dr.
