Eanes, Ivy Snowe Kast

Ivy Snowe Kast Eanes, 79, of Christiansburg, born on February 24, 1932 in Kerns in Giles County, Va., transitioned through God’s ultimate healing to her eternal home in Heaven. She is now praising her Lord and reuniting with her loved ones who passed on before her. We know first on her list was her husband “Bud” E.W. Eanes, known to others also as “Popeye”, also to greet her was her beloved cat, Thomas. She was also preceded in death by her parents, James D. and Virginia Kast, infant twin brothers, Harold and Howard; brothers, Donald Kast, Alfred Kast, Emmet Kast; brother-in-law, Bill Wood; and sisters-in-law, Shirley Kast and Virginia Kast. She is survived by her son, Bruce Eanes, of Christiansburg; daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon and Harvey Boothe, of Pilot, Susan and Dr. Daniel Kelly, of Christiansburg; grandchildren, Stacie and Courtney Fletcher, of Washington, D.C., Jessica Boothe, of Alexandria, Megan Kelly and Brianna Kelly, both of Christiansburg. She is also survived by her sisters and their spouses, Gladys Wood, of Peterstown, W. Va., Gladiola and Clate Dolinger, of Pembroke, Rowena and Homer Harvey, of Willow Bend, W. Va., Ellen and Jim Davis, of Rock, W. Va., Wanda and Ralph Scholl, of Lancaster, Ohio; brother and spouse, Lacy and Jeanette Kast, of Gap Mills, W.Va.; and sister-in-law, Stella Kast, of Pearisburg. Three special friends, Judy Mitchell, Gail Quesenberry and Kim Dalton also survive. The family will receive friends at The Horne Funeral Home on Monday, August 1, 2011 from 5 to 8 p.m. The funeral service will be held at Belmont Christian Church 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 2, 2011, with Pastor Jerry Dowdy officiating.
