Munn, Betty Morgan

Betty Morgan Munn, 86, of Blacksburg, died Sunday, July 24, 2011, at Kroontje Health Care Center. She was born in Baton Rouge, La. on August 2, 1924, to the late Thomas B. and Alice Chapman Morgan. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Harold Munn; brothers, Thomas Edwin Morgan, Wendell E. Morgan; sisters, Naomi A. McGehee, Delia Margaret Steinman. She will be remembered for her generosity and kindness, to whomever met her, and especially for her biscuits, whistling and dancing. She is survived by her daughter, Jamie Munn Simmons and former son-in-law, William K. Simmons, both of Blacksburg; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Paul R. and Kristie Munn, of Amherst, David W. Munn, of Blacksburg; former daughter-in-law, Robin Munn, of Charlottesville; eight grandchildren, Hilary and husband, Matt, Matthew and wife, Kamilia, Alicia and husband, David, Jackson, William, Robert, Genevieve and fiancé, Sean, Chapman; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Alice Scott; brothers, John Mark Morgan and Chapman Morgan. The family wishes to thank the staff in the Willows at Kroontje Health Care Center and Good Samaritan Hospice for their endless love and care. The family will be celebrating Betty’s life on Sunday, July 31, 2011, from 4 to 7 p.m. at her daughter, Jamie’s home.
