Ratcliffe, Evelyn Lawson

Evelyn Lawson Ratcliffe, 76, of Narrows, was carried by the angels to her Heavenly home on Thursday, July 21, 2011 while surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Raleigh, W. Va. on April 6, 1935 and was the daughter of the late Willie Jasper and Ruby Blanche Perkins Lawson. In addition to her mother and father, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Jay, Ralph and Paul Lawson; and a sister, Faye Dunford. Evelyn was a retired employee of Celanese Acetate in Narrows with 32 years service. She enjoyed creating many types of crafts. A loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, she will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Left to cherish her memory are a son, Rick Ratcliffe and wife, Cindy, of Narrows; daughter, Kim Kantsios and husband, Billy, of Rich Creek; three grandsons, Ricky Ratcliffe II and wife, Randi, Logan Kantsios and Chase Kantsios; two great-grandsons, Richard Ratcliffe III and Ryan Ratcliffe; a brother, Bucky Lawson and wife, Judie, of Narrows; a sister, Dee Johnston and husband, Jimmy, of Narrows; several nieces, nephews and cousins, and a very special friend, Sylvia Williams, of Maybrook. Funeral services will be held Monday, July 25, 2001 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Riffe’s Funeral Service in Narrows, with Pastor Eddie Kendall and the Rev. Doug Hyndrich officiating. Burial will follow in Angels Rest Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Riffe’s Funeral Service Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. The family is being served by Riffe’s Funeral Service, Inc., 540-726-2442.
