Robertson, Thomas Frederick (Freddie)

Thomas Frederick (Freddie) Robertson, 78, of Rich Creek, passed away Sunday, July 10, 2011, at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, Roanoke. Born March 23, 1933, at Epperly, W.Va. he was the son of the late Bennett Roosevelt and Willie Douglas Snidow Robertson. Freddie was a boilermaker and belonged to the Boilermakers Union #45 of Richmond. He was also a member of the First Baptist Church at Rich Creek. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Harold Dean, Bennie Randall and Jack Buford Robertson. Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Ruth Mann Robertson; one son, Wesley Dean Robertson, of Rich Creek; one daughter, Shaun Holdren and husband, Randall “Hobie”, of Willowton, W.Va.; two brothers, William Douglas Robertson and wife, Jean, of Chester and Edward Ray Robertson and wife, Bertie, of Narrows; three sisters, Phyllis Wanda Richards, of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Clara Ann Lee Vest, of Hopewell, and Mary Marguerite Hebb, of Princeton, W.Va.; five grandchildren, Samantha Gail and Ashley Sue Robertson, Stephanie Harmon and Jason and Sarah Holdren. Funeral Services will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, July 13, 2011, at First Baptist Church of Rich Creek, Rich Creek with the Rev. Aubrey Whitlow officiating. Burial will follow in the Sunrise Memorial Gardens, Rich Creek. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, July 12, 2011, at the Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home, Peterstown, W.Va. and one hour prior to the funeral at the church.
