Donald Young Kelsey Jr., 71, of Blacksburg, died on Monday, June 6, 2011, at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He was born in Roanoke, Va., on October 6, 1939, to the late Donald Young Kelsey Sr. and Lela Brooks Kelsey. He was preceded in death 11 days by his wife, Cynthia Watkins Kelsey. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Beth Kelsey and husband, Bud Bennett, of Blacksburg; and two grandchildren, Selena Bennett and Gabriel Bennett, all of Blacksburg. Memorial Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Friday, June 10, 2011, in the Christ Episcopal Church with the Rev. Scott West officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday evening, June 9, 2011, in the Parish Library of Christ Episcopal Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Tornado Relief Fund for Pulaski, Washington, and Smyth Counties, make checks payable and send to the Diocese of Southwestern Virginia, P.O. Box 2279, Roanoke, VA 24009, please mark “Tornado Fund.”
