Estep, Cecil Jesse

Cecil Jesse Estep, 85, of Narrows, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 25, 2011, at the VA Medical Center in Salem after a long battle with pneumonia. He was born in Scott County, Va., on April 15, 1926, and was the son of the late Ewell Berry and Dellie Mae Sanders Estep. In addition to his mother and father, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Charlotte Meade, Rosie Hagy, Margaret Fisher; and a brother, Donald Estep. Cecil was a United States Army Veteran, serving during World War II, and again from 1950 to 1955, a Life Member and former two-time commander of VFW Post #6000, a member of American Legion Post #68 and the Pearisburg Moose Lodge. He was a faithful member of Riverview Baptist Church in Ripplemead. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 54 years, Virginia (Pat) Estep, of Narrows; two sons, Cecil W. Estep, of Narrows, and Chuckie Estep and wife, Phyllis, of Christiansburg; two daughters, Susan Perkins and husband, Paul, of Narrows, and Linda Dunford and husband, Benny, of Pearisburg; six grandchildren, B.J. Dunford, Cecil L. Estep, Michael Perkins, Nikki Perkins, Tiffany Estep, and Kimmie Perkins; five step grandchildren; three stepgreat-grandchildren; two brothers, Roy Estep and wife, Virgie, of Claytor Lake, and Alonzo Estep and wife, Kathleen, of Roanoke; three sisters, Juanita Elliott, of Bastian, Bessie Dent, of Bastian, and Timpie Bryant and husband, Clarence, of Nickelsville, Va.; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and many special friends. Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 29, 2011, in the chapel of Riffe’s Funeral Service in Narrows with Pastor Shahn Wilburn officiating. Burial will follow in Angels Rest Cemetery with Graveside Rites conducted by VFW Post #6000 of Narrows, American Legion Posts #68 of Narrows, #311 of Pembroke and #145 of Peterstown.
