McMahan, Bessie Odell

Bessie Odell McMahan, 72, of Blacksburg, died on Tuesday, May 10, 2011, at the New River Valley Medical Center. She was born in Blacksburg, Va., on August 15, 1938, to the late Carl and Ilene Surface Smith and also preceded in death by her infant daughter, Vickie Lynn McMahan. She is survived by her husband, Thomas D. McMahan, of Blacksburg; three sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas D. Jr. and Renee McMahan, of Blacksburg, Ricky Lane and Tina McMahan, of Chilhowie, Va., and Paul David McMahan and Andrew Hunt, of Washington, D.C.; five grandchildren, Lacey McMahan, Dylan McMahan, Ricky McMahan Jr., Chris McMahan, and Frankie Nicole Mooney; two greatgrandchildren Chloe Adkins and Lydia McMahan; four sisters, Alma Quesenberry, Etta Faye Shealor, Mary Ruth McDonald, and Gladys Hughes; and five brothers, Denny Smith, Daniel Smith, Allen Wayne (TC) Smith, Rodney Smith, and Jackie Smith. Graveside Memorial Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 13, 2011, in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg with the Rev. Gary McCoy officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening, May 12, 2011, from 6 to 8 p.m. at McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Dr., SW, Blacksburg, Va.
