Level, Jessie Elise Smith

Jessie Elise Smith Level, 100, of Pearisburg, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 10, 2011, at Riverview Nursing Home in Rich Creek, Va. Mrs. Level was born on November 11, 1910, at Bluff City, Pearisburg, Va., and was a daughter of the late Creed Robert Smith and Gillie Ann Ritter Smith. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Robert Level; two sons, Garland Adair Level and George Creed Level; daughterin-law, Peggy Carter Level; one sister; eight brothers; and grandson, Stephen Level. Mrs. Level was a lifelong member of the Pearisburg Presbyterian Church. She is survived by two daughters, Judith L. Stafford and husband, Paul, of Pearisburg, and Margaret Jean Radford and husband, Gerald, of Virginia Beach; two sons, James Daniel Level and wife, Dorothy, of Pearisburg, and Bobby Joe Level and wife, Sandra, of Baker, La.; 12 grandchildren;, 16 greatgrandchildren; and seven greatgreatgrandchildren. Funeral Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 13, 2011, at the Pearisburg Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Shirley Larson officiating. Burial will follow in the Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at the Givens Funeral Home on Thursday, May 12, 2011, from 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Pearisburg Presbyterian Church.
