Parham, Alvin Louis

Alvin Louis Parham, 69, of Williamsburg, passed away Wednesday, April 6, 2011, at MCV. Born in Roxboro, N.C., Alvin had lived in Williamsburg, since 1971. He was raised in Durham, N.C. and graduated from Durham High School. He is preceded in death by his parents, Mr. A. L. Parham and Mrs. Virginia Woody Parham, of Durham, N.C.; and a brother, James Parham. He is survived by his son, Rodney B. Parham (Tracey), of Panama City, Fla.; grandchildren, Cody, Bryce, Sarah and Holly; brother, Randy Parham, of Benson, N.C.; sisters, Joyce Gooch, of Creedmoor, N.C. (Gary), Sue Willett (Harold), of Durham, N.C.; seven nieces; one nephew; one great-niece and four great-nephews; and friend, Sam Cupp. The family would like to thank the staff of MCV Palliative Care Unit and special nurse Patti of Digestive Unit. Graveside services will be conducted Friday, April 8, 2011, at 3 p.m. in the Sunset Cemetery with nephew Tony Gooch officiating. Music by friend, Mrs. Jan Johnson. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday at the McCoy Funeral Home.
