DeHart, Heather Langford

Heather Langford DeHart, 40, of Roanoke, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 29, 2011. Born in Pearisburg on August 9, 1970, she will always be the beloved daughter of James and Barbara Langford, of Pembroke. She graduated from William Fleming High School and National College, and was earning her Master’s Degree in accounting, but she was happiest when spending time with her much loved son and grandson. She was employed by National College and was a member of Riverview Baptist Church in Ripplemead. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her parents, James and Barbara Cumbee Langford, of Pembroke; brother, Lynn Langford, of Shawsville; sister, Lorri Leigh Langford, of Narrows; one beloved son, Josh DeHart, of Roanoke; cherished grandson, Jaydon DeHart, of Roanoke; grandmother, Kathleen Langford, of Christiansburg; aunts and uncles, Ronnie and Claudine Cumbee, of Pembroke, Joann and Jimmie Harless, of Ripplemead, Charlotte Hendrickson, of Pembroke, Geneva and Cecil Robinette, of Pembroke, Patty Sessor, of Pembroke, Jackie and Roger Venteicher, of Christiansburg, Gary and Cindy Langford, of Pittsburgh, Pa., Vicki Langford, of Pearisburg; and many loving cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Orbie Cumbee and Pauline Atkins Cumbee and Raymond Langford; her uncle, Donnie Cumbee; and her aunt, Betty Dowdy. Heather was loving, kind and gentle like her mother and quick with a laugh like her father. She loved everyone and was loved by everyone in return and was always ready to greet her friends and family with a smile and a hug. We will miss those hugs until we meet again. Funeral Services will be conducted Saturday, April 2, 2011, at 2 p.m. in Riverview Baptist Church in Ripplemead with Pastor Shahn Wilburn officiating. Burial will follow in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St., Pembroke, Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that contributions be made in the name of Heather DeHart to The Salvation Army Turning Point, 815 Salem Avenue, Roanoke, VA 24016.
