Shirley Hartsock Hamrick, 72, of Christiansburg, passed away at her home on Thursday, March 10, 2011. She was preceded in death by her son, Gary; her mother, Bessie; father, Earl; as well as her brother, Buddy;, and two sisters, Sue and Anita. She is survived by her husband, George, of 56 years; daughter, Becky and son-in-law, Gary; daughter, Robin; daughter-inlaw, Donna; six grandchildren, Marshal, Greg, Amy, Jessica, Tyler and Ryan; six greatgrandchildren, Gia, Riley, Hayden, Natalie, Kinsley and Adelyn; sister Merlyn; and brothers, Tom, Jake and Harty. A Celebration of her Life will be held 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 13, 2011, at Horne Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Vest officiating. In lieu of flowers and in memory of her son, the family requests that donations be given to the local cancer association at American Cancer Society , 2840 Electric Road, Suite 106-A, Roanoke, VA 24018.
