Harless, Douglas MacArthur (Mac)

harless_douglas_macarthurDouglas MacArthur (Mac) Harless, 68, of Dublin, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, March 8, 2011, after a long hard fight with many health battles. Mr. Harless was born in Giles County on April 10, 1942, and was a son of the late Clarence and Hazel Weiss Harless. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Cecil and Marshall Harless. He was a loving father, grandfather and brother. He was a former supervisor at Burlington Industries, formerly Klopman Mills in Dublin and a former machine operator at Wolverine in Blacksburg. He is survived by, two sons and daughter-in-law, Dean Harless, of Dublin, and John and Kristy Harless, of Max Meadows; four grandchildren, Dee Dee, Alyssa, Johnetta, and Madison; two brothers and sisters-in-law, James and Helen Harless, of Radford, and William (Bill) and Betty Harless, of Pearisburg; two sisters-in-law, Charlotte Harless, of Williston, S.C., and Patty Harless, of Pulaski; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Lois H. and Donald Stafford, of Radford, Betty H. and James Roberts, of Pearisburg, Patsy H. and Bob Bruce, of Christiansburg, and Diane H. and Scotty Fewell, of Dublin; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral Services will be held 11 a.m. on Friday, March 11, 2011, at the Givens Funeral Chapel in Pearisburg with the Rev. Raymond White officiating with burial following in the Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, March 10, 2011, at the Givens Funeral Home.
