Cumbee, Reba Ann

Reba Ann Cumbee, 64, of Newport, departed this life Thursday, March 3, 2011, at Lewis-Gale Hospital, Montgomery in Blacksburg. Born in Giles County November 13, 1946, she was a daughter of the late Woodrow Wilson and Gladys Songer Dowdy Cumbee. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Ervin Cumbee; her half-brothers Marvin, Martin, Roscoe and William Dowdy; her half-sisters Margaret, Elsie and Lottie Cumbee and Mildred Breeding. She leaves to cherish her memory her sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Claude Dowdy, of Newport, with whom she made her home for over 30 years; and several devoted nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St., Pembroke, with burial following in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour before the services.
