Nester, Beulah Constance Akers (Boot)

Beulah Constance Akers (Boot) Nester, 83, of Blacksburg, Va., died on Monday, February 21, 2011, at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. She was born in Montgomery County, Va., on February 10, 1928, to the late Freeman and Lucy Early Akers. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Roy E. Nester; a son, Melvin H. Nester; a daughterin-law, Kathy Nester; two brothers, Curtis and Balford (Rowdy) Akers; and a sister, Reba Meredith. She was a faithful member of Waters of Life Holiness Church. She is survived by three sons and daughter-in-law, Harold and Nancy Nester, of Shawsville, and Bruce Nester and Roger Nester, both of Ironto; three daughters and sons-in-law, Myrtle and Jimmy Yopp, of Shawsville, Carrie and Eric Nowlin, of Riner, and Janice Nester, of Blacksburg; daughter-in-law, Zana Nester, of Willis; 11 grandchildren, Randall Nester, Angie Sawyer, Melinda Vest, Freeman, Jessie and Roy Nester, Cindy Akers, Jessica Yopp, Eric Nester, Matthew and Mitchell Nowlin; five great-grandchildren, Travis and Beth Sawyer, Hailey and Macie Akers, and Patrick Moran; one greatgreat-grandchild, Lane Sawyer; brothers and sistersin-law, Alvin and Annie Akers, of Salem, John Beamer and Ellewese Akers, and Raymond and Charlotte Akers, all of Riner, and George and Joyce Akers, of Christiansburg; sisters and brother-in-law, Beva and Henderson Woods, of Christiansburg, and Betty Dickerson, of Blacksburg; sisters-in-law, Edith Conley and Maurine Nester, both of Salem; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be conducted 11 a.m. on Thursday, February 24, 2011, in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Richard Bishop and the Rev. James Walker officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Cemetery, Christiansburg.
