Hoops, Grayson McKinzie

Grayson McKinzie Hoops, 17, of Elliston, Va., was taken from our lives on Sunday, February 13, 2011. He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Mary Margaret Hardy and Tommy Joe Griffith. He is survived by his father, Stacy Hoops; mother, Nikki Hieatt; stepfather, Kevin Hieatt; three sisters of the home, Logan Hoops, Taylor Hieatt and Kelsey Hieatt; one brother, Blair Hoops; maternal grandfather, Homer Hardy; paternal grandparents, Vickie and Allen Hoops, David and Kay Hieatt, and Richard and Joann Salyer; and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and special friends. Grayson was an Honor Student at Eastern Montgomery High School. He had aspirations to pursue a career in the medical field. He loved spending time with family and friends. He loved hiking, camping, fishing, kayaking, and playing video games. Grayson was loved by many people and will be missed by all who knew him. The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 17, 2011, from 5 until 8 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home. A Memorial Service will be conducted 2 p.m. on Friday, February 18, 2011, from the chapel of Horne Funeral Home with Pastor John Collins officiating.
