BEDSAUL, Rosamond Vaughan
Rosamond Vaughan Bedsaul, 100, of Carrington Place, Wytheville, Va., formerly from Floyd, Va., passed away Monday, September 25, 2006.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. F. Clyde Bedsaul; father and mother, John B. and Bess Rhudy Vaughan; and nephew, R. Allen Davis.
She became a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church, Spring Valley, Virginia when she was eight years old, a member of Floyd United Methodist Church for 72 years, and taught Sunday School for 40 years. Her goal in life was to always do the right thing, and to inspire others to Christianity.
Mrs. Bedsaul was a longtime member of Floyd Courthouse Chapter, Daughters of American Revolution, Wilderness Trail Chapter, Col. Davis XVII Century Jamestown Society, Past President Auxiliary to Medical Society of Va. She was a Charter Member of The Floyd Woman’s Club and served as President 1942-44. She attended Marion College and graduated from Emory and Henry College.
She is survived by her niece, Patricia Emmons, Killen, Ala.; niece, Mary Ann Davis, Shelby, N.C.
The family will receive friends at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, and immediately following the funeral. Funeral service will be held at The Floyd United Methodist Church at 12 noon with the Rev. Richard Gregory and Dr. Don Stansell officiating. Burial to follow at Jacksonville Burial Grounds. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Floyd United Methodist Church, P. 0. Box 55, Floyd, Va. 24091. Arrangements by Wood Funeral Home, Floyd, Virginia.
