Neice, James Albert (Joe)

James Albert (Joe) Neice, 78, of Pearisburg, Va., departed this life on Tuesday afternoon, December 14, 2010, at Carilion Giles Community Hospital in Pearisburg. Born in Pearisburg on June 7, 1932, he was a son of the late Albert James and Bertha Mae Snidow Neice. He was a faithful member of New Village Pentecostal Holiness Church in Staffordsville, was retired from VDOT with over 30 years of service, and was a veteran of the United States Army. Joe was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Frances McPeak Neice; his brothers, Bobby, William (Skitter), Doug, and Louis Neice; and his sisters, Louise Reynolds and Betty Hand. He leaves to cherish his memory his son, James Edward Neice, of Pearisburg; his daughter, Cheryl Dancy, of Bristol, Tenn.; his brother, Lawrence “Beetle” Neice, of Alabama; his grandchildren, James Keith Neice, Gail Renee Neice, Luke Conor Blair, and Lucas Blair; and his 10 greatgrandchildren. Funeral Services will be conducted 2 p.m. on Friday, December 17, 2010, in New Village Pentecostal Holiness Church, Staffordsville with Pastor Terry Mays officiating. Burial will follow in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at the church on Thursday evening, December 16, 2010, from 6 to 8 p.m. Graveside Military Rites will be performed by American Legion Posts No. 311 -Pembroke, No. 68-Narrows, No. 145-Peterstown and VFW Post 6000 in Narrows.
