Worthington, Jessica Mitchum
Jessica Lee (Mitchum) Albert Worthington, 42 of Pulaski, departed this life, March 4, 2020. She was born October 17, 1977, in Salem, Virginia. She was preceded in death by her father, Franklin Mitchum, Sr, maternal grandparents, Harriet and Richard Miles, paternal grandmother, Nellie Mitchum, aunt, Rhanelle Spaulding, and grand-aunt, Connie Barbaree.
Jess was a loving and caring person, with a heart of gold. She never turned her back on anyone who needed her help, and as a result of that she had more loving friends than most of us can ever imagine. She had many friends she referred to as “kids”, who she took under her wing and loved like her own. She loved animals, music, and always spoke her mind with honesty and sincerity. Jess had a deep love for her family, and family was her life. Her son, Kirk, was the light of her life, and she treasured every minute she would spend with him. Her husband Billy, was her soulmate, and together they were, and always will be, connected at the soul. There could never have been a more loving and nurturing husband, and he always saw to it that she never wanted for anything.
She leaves behind her adoring husband, Billy Worthington. She is also survived by her loving son, Kirk Albert and his girlfriend, Logan Hollandsworth. Jessica’s parents Patrick and Karen Miles-Dobbins, brother, Franklin Mitchum, Jr., paternal grandfather, Henry Mitchum, her father-in-law, Bill Worthington, mother-in-law, Jodi Worthington, loving aunts and uncles, Marybeth and Kevin Hungate, Carol and Jeff Gill, Randy Elmore, Donna and Bob Koivula, Lucy and Jake Gobble, Charles Mitchum, Libby and Sam Doss, and Nellie Sparks, dear friends, Angie Comer, Leah and Anthony Moye, Cassie Schuyler and a cousin who was a Godsend to us in Jess’s final hours, Samantha Sparks. Jess also leaves behind her beloved furbabies, Henry, Oscar, and Sampson. Also, so many family, friends, and loved ones, whose lives Jess has touched, too numerous to mention.
Memorial services will be conducted Wednesday, March 11 2020 at 1:00 pm in the New Bern Church of God and the family will receive friends from 12 to 1:00 pm before the service.
