Bond, Royal Marion
Royal Marion Bond, 93, of Radford, Va., passed away on Saturday, December 4, 2010. He was retired chief operator at Hercules with 32 years of service. He was an active member of First Baptist Church and Past Master of Va. May Masonic Lodge #38 A.F. & A.M. He was preceded in death by his first wife of 56 years, Julia Mae Lawson Bond; parents, John Lee and Susan Moore Bond; three sisters, Treva Muller, Freida Dickens and Verna Ratcliffe; and a brother, Audrey Bond. Survivors include his wife, Pat “Queenie” Lambert Bond, of Radford; three sons and daughters-in-law, Edward and Marsha Bond, of Donalsville, Ga., Steve and Ginger Bond, of Cameron, N.C., and Roy Lee and Chom Bond, of Dublin; three daughters and sons-inlaw, Sandra and Horace Copeland, of Williamsburg, Norma Cregger, of Roanoke, and Bonita and Russell Johnston, of Troutville; two stepdaughters, Marcia Luzier, of Dublin, and Beverly Rowicki, of Jacksonville, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; 18 greatgrandchildren; and four greatgreat-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held 11 a.m. on Tuesday, December 7, 2010, at the First Baptist Church in Radford with Dr. Paul Lane and the Rev. Kent Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in the Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin where members of the Va. May Lodge will conduct Masonic Graveside Rites. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Memorial Fund at First Baptist Church, 215 Third Avenue, Radford, Va. 24141. The family will receive friends from 2 until 4 p.m. and from 6 until 8 p.m. on Monday, December 6, 2010, at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford.
