After declining health for the past several years, Pearl Wickline Riner Dillion, age 95, passed away on Thursday, November 14, 2019, at Country View Assisted Living in Peterstown, WV. Pearl was born near Lindside, WV, on September 10, 1924, a daughter of Samuel J. and Roxie Sanders Wickline.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur W. Riner; her parents; two sisters, Mae W. Canterbury and Ellen W. Broyles; two brothers, Rexford E. Wickline and Sherman Wickline. She was also preceded in death by her late husband, Roscoe H. Dillion.

Survivors include her daughter, Della Riner Holdren and husband Fred of Roanoke, VA; one grandson, Greg Holdren of Rocky Mount, VA; great granddaughter, Jennifer H. Davis and husband Aaron and two great great grandchildren of Kittery, ME; and several special nieces and nephews.

Pearl accepted Christ as her personal Savior at age 20 and was baptized into “The Bethany Baptist Church” in Wilmington, DE, in February 1945. She has kept the Baptist faith throughout her lifetime. She was employed by Celanese Corp. for 24 years and after retirement, had remained close at home as a happy and immaculate homemaker in Rich Creek, VA. Pearl loved her family and was faithful to help them in times of need.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Sunday, November 17, 2019, at Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home in Peterstown, WV, with Barry Harper officiating. Burial will follow at Karnes Cemetery in Peterstown, WV, alongside her first husband, Arthur Riner. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until time of services on Sunday at the funeral home.
