Viars, Larry Allen

Larry Allen Viars, 61, of Pearisburg, Va., passed away on Wednesday, October 20, 2010, at Lewis Gale Hospital in Salem, Va. Mr. Viars was born on November 10, 1948, in Pearisburg and was the son of the late Clarence (Soup) W. Viars, of Narrows, and Lake Janney Mckeel, of Pasanda, Md. Larry was a loyal and faithful member of the Pearisburg Moose Lodge. He is survived by his devoted and loving Aunt Edna Viars, of Pearisburg, who cared for him throughout his life long illnesses; four sisters, Elsie Mae Page, of Peterstown, W.Va., Frances Broadwater, of Glen Burnie, Md., Louise (Boots) Barrett, of Woodbridge, and Sarah Neels, of Union, W.Va.; one niece; one nephew; many cousins and friends; and special friends, Jesse Whittaker and Doug Turner. Funeral Services will be conducted 2 p.m. on Friday, October 22, 2010, at the Givens Funeral Chapel in Pearisburg with the Rev. Eddie Kendall officiating with burial following in the Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at the Givens Funeral Home on Thursday evening, October 21, 2010, from 6 to 8 p.m. Special thanks to all his friends and school mates who came out to see him at the hospital.
