East, Wayne Nelson

Wayne Nelson East, 67, of Elliston, Va., passed away Saturday, September 25, 2010. He was born February 15, 1943, in Ironto, Va., to the late Russell John and Lottie Newman East. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Clyntis East.

He retired from Norfolk and Southern Railroad as a signal supervisor after 32 years of service. He enjoyed restoring classic cars, raising German Shepherds, and was a member of the Moose Lodge at Williamson, W.Va..

He is survived by his wife, Judy Elaine East; sons, Robert East, of Ironto, Va., and Brian East and wife, Shirley, of Statesville, N.C.; four grandchildren; two greatgrandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and aunts; brother-in-law, Bob and Jean Perdue, of Blacksburg, Va.; sister-in-law, Kathie and Reggie Conner, of Shawsville, Va.; and mother-in-law, Odell Perdue, of Shawsville, Va.

The family would like to thank Good Samaritan Hospice and caregivers Daniel Boone and Trish.

The family will receive friends on Monday, September 27, 2010 from 5 until 8 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home. A graveside funeral service will be conducted on 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 28, 2010, at Reesedale Cemetery.
