mccoy_terry_williamsTerry Lee Williams McCoy, 56, of Savannah, Ga., passed away on Saturday, September 18, 2010, at Hospice Savannah. She was born on August 7, 1954, in Radford, Va., to the late Clayton and Virgie Williams.

She graduated in the last class of Dublin High School in 1972 and attended Virginia Western Community College. Terry was a resident of Savannah for the past 20 years and was employed for 18 years with the Small Business Assistance Corporation. She was previously employed for 15 years as Assistant Vice President of Crestar Bank (now SunTrust Bank) in Roanoke, Va. She was a member of the Wilmington Island United Methodist Church and was a passionate gardener and ardent cook.

She is survived by her husband, Doug McCoy, of Savannah; her daughter and son-in-law, April and Gary Cross, of Summerville, S.C.; her son, James Hayes, of Roanoke, Va.; her daughter, Kelly McCoy, of Radford, Va.; and daughter, Kate McCoy, of Nashville, Tenn. She is also survived by her brothers, Chuck and Jamie Dean Wheeler, of Pulaski County, Va.; and four grandchildren, Austin, Morgan, Parker, and Spencer.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, September 23, 2010, at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors, Islands Chapel, Savannah, Ga. A Memorial Service to honor her life will be held 11 a.m. on Friday, September 24, 2010, at the Wilmington Island United Methodist Church.
