Patton, Robert William

Robert William (Billy) Patton, 60 of Eggleston, VA went to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 25, 2019 at his home. Billy was born on September 7, 1958 in Radford, VA and was a son the late William Miller Patton, Jr. and Alveta (Sally) Hughes Patton. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a nephew, Richard Snider and a brother-in-law, Charles Moore.

Billy grew up in Craig Co. playing music and hunting. He was a retired employee at VDOT with over 30 years of service. He was a member of Eggleston Masonic Lodge 309 and attended the First Christian Church in Pearisburg. He was also a proud member of the “Be Happy Hunt Club”, and of the Gold Rush bluegrass and gospel group.

He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Kay Croy Patton of Eggleston, one daughter, Shelley Lynn Patton of Pembroke, one son, Travis William Patton and wife Kelly of Narrows, four grandchildren, Maggie, Jake, Kayde and Thatcher, two brothers, Nelson Snider and wife Donna of New Castle, Neal Snider of Oh, two sisters, Pamela Moore of Catawba and Diane Crawford and husband Eddie of Fairfield.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, April 27, 2019 at 2pm at the Givens Funeral Chapel in Pearisburg with Mike Schlueter officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday from 12 – 2 pm before the service. A Masonic service by Eggleston Lodge 309 will be held following the Celebration of Life.
