Broyles, Virginia Hawks

Virginia Marie Hawks Broyles, 88, passed away on Sunday, April 7, 2019, at her home in Peterstown, WV. Born October 22, 1930, in Marie, WV, she was the daughter of the late Abraham Lincoln and Lela McGlaughlin Hawks.

Virginia was a current member of the Rock Camp Baptist Church in Rock Camp, WV. Previously, she was a long-standing member of the Lindside Christian Church where she was very involved with the youth and taught Sunday School for many years. A few times, she even aided her students in singing gospel music on WNRV Radio on Saturday mornings. She was a former employee of New River Manufacturing in Narrows, VA, where she was a top seamstress. She loved to fish and was an avid cat lover.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Frank Lewis Broyles; her second husband, Fred Eldridge Broyles; one son, Roger Lee Broyles; and one step-son, Jimmy Broyles. Additionally, she was preceded in death by her grandsons, Troy David and Jeffrey Lee Broyles; great grandson, Xavier Delgado; four brothers, Jack, Buck, Bill, and John Hawks; two sisters, Pearl Falls and Freda Harry; step-brother, Clark Anderson; and her loving step-mother, Pansy Hawks.

Those left to cherish her memory includes three sons, Donald Frank Broyles and wife Valerie of Oklahoma City, OK, Charles David Broyles and wife Sharon of Lindside, WV, and Paul Leonard Broyles and wife Cindy of Peterstown, WV; one step-son, Dickie Broyles of Lindside, WV; six grandchildren, Christopher Broyles, Anthony Broyles, Michelle Mann, Paul Ryan Broyles, Aaron Manfrede, and Aaron Lee Broyles; three step-grandchildren, Chris Jackson, Athena Delgado, and Angela Ard; several great grandchildren; and special sister-in-law, Nellie Miller of Beckley, WV.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, April 14, 2019, at the Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home Chapel in Peterstown, WV, with Pastor Paul Broyles officiating.
