Bonds, Forrest Gene

Forrest Gene Bonds, age 71, passed away on Sunday, February 3, 2019, at the Carilion Giles Community Hospital in Pearisburg, VA. Born January 8, 1948, in Forest Hill, WV, he was the son of the late Stanley Forrest and Betty Jean Meador Bonds.

Gene was a self-employed timberman, a member of the NRA, and a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Julie Diana Shrader; one son-in-law, David Glenn Shrader; and two brothers, Avery Ethan and Jeffrey Wayne Bonds. Survivors include his loving wife of 51 years, Mary Belle Bonds; one son, Forrest Gene Bonds, Jr. and Joyce Perkins of Hadensville, VA; two brothers, Stanley Carter Bonds and wife Darlene of Narrows, VA, and Richard Bonds and Barbara of Henrico, VA; one sister, Patricia D. Evey and husband Garland, OH; four grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, February 6, 2019, at the Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home Chapel in Peterstown, WV, with Pastor Becky VanStavern officiating. Burial will follow at the Red Sulphur Springs Community Church Cemetery in Red Sulphur Springs, WV. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until time of services on Wednesday at the funeral home.
