Hodges, Clara Peters

Clara Elizabeth Peters (Liz) Hodges, 62, of Check, Va., lost her battle with cancer on Wednesday, January 9, 2019, at home surrounded by her family. She enjoyed gardening and doing crafts, but her grandchildren were her greatest joy.

Liz was preceded in death by her father, Shirley A. Peters; and brothers, Rodney Peters and Terry Peters. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Steve Hodges; children, Faye Hodges Erchull and her husband, Tony, and Lee Hodges; mother, Maxine Peters; four grandchildren, Caleb, Mason, Dawson and Peyton Erchull; sisters, Susan Pittman, Patsy (Grover) Stump, and Cindy (David) Waldron; dog, Max; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, January 16, 2019, at Oakey’s South Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to your favorite charity in memory of Liz. Online condolences may be made at www.oakeys.com.
