Long, Trixie Wiley

Trixie Wiley Long, 60, of Radford, Va., went to be with the Lord on Friday, August 6, 2010. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, teacher and friend. For 19 years, she worked as a special education instructional aide in Montgomery County elementary schools. She was also an active member of Belmont Christian Church. Trixie was born in Sinks Grove, W.Va. and was preceded in death by her parents, Mark and Lois Wiley; and two brothers, Gene and Nace Wiley. She is survived by her husband and best friend, Sonny, of Radford; her son, John and daughter-in-law, Nicole, of Radford; and her daughter, Tammy and sonin-law, Eric Dunkum of Chesterfield, Va.; and her four grandchildren, Hannah, Beth, Jed and Kate. She is also survived by her brothers, Joe Wiley and sister-in-law, Genevieve, of Roncerverte, W.Va., and Charlie and sisterin-law, Theresa Wiley, of Covington, Va.; and her sisters, Edna Mae Burwell, of Sinks Grove, W.Va., Rhonda and brother-in-law, Claude Hylton, of White Sulpher Springs, W.Va., and Polly and brother-in-law, Freddy Plunkett, of Seiverville, Tenn. She was also survived by her sisters-in-law, Lyndall Wiley, of Princeton, W.Va., and Audrey Wiley, of Covington, Va. The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 8, 2010, from 6 until 8 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted on Monday, August 9, 2010, at 2 p.m. at Belmont Christians Church officiated by Pastor Jerry Dowdy, Pastor Jim Bayne and Pastor Brandon Craig. Interment will follow in Sunset Cemetery.
