Lewey, Lois Kegley

Lois Kegley Lewey, 84, of Pulaski, Va., died Thursday, August 5, 2010, in the Pulaski Community Hospital. She was born in Pulaski on July 19, 1926, and was the daughter of the late Charles P. Kegley Sr. and Lillian Powers Kegley. She was also preceded in death by her husbands, Sanders Bentley (S.B.) Collins Jr. and by Harry Paul Lewey; sister, Margaret K. Greenwood; brothers, Charles P. Kegley Jr. and Dan Martin (Potts) Kegley; stepmother, Gladys Hurst Kegley; and a stepsister, Loraine Richardson Duncan. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Pulaski, where she was a member of the United Methodist Women (UMW) and a member of the Thursday Club. Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Sandy and Tonya Collins III, Newport News; stepdaughter and spouse, Linda and Mike Davis, S.C.; sisters, Jeanne K. Smith, High Point, N.C., June K. Foley, Richmond; half brother, Winston P. Kegley, Knoxville, Tenn.; stepsister, Betty Grubb Ward, Waynesboro; grandson, Patrick Gage Collins, Newport News; stepgrandson, Stephen C. Woodside, S.C. Funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. from Stevens Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery. Visiting will be Monday evening from the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. The family wishes that memorials be made to the First United Methodist Church, 135 4th Street NW, Pulaski, Va. 24301.
